Maintaining a truck engine is indeed a big deal. If the truckers are getting lazy with the oil changes, it can kill the engine. Equally important are the filter changes. The truck drives need to take care that the dirty fuel can clog the fuel injection system, thus, it is important to get the filters changed regularly.

• Check the truck’s manual for frequency suggestions and get the frequent oil and filter changes. They need to make it sure that the oil filters meet or exceed the OEM filter as recommended by the manufacturer.
• While stopping at a pump for fuel, add a bottle of diesel treatment in order to keep the impurities from reaching the engine.
• Keep draining the engine’s water separator as it collects the water from the fuel and is usually located near the fuel filter. If the truck does not include one, the truckers need to install and save money on repairs.
• In case a leaky gasket is noticed, it must be replaced immediately. Gaskets need to be monitored carefully since they are exposed to extreme conditions. You need to take care that you replace the leaky gasket as a set as if one starts to leak; the other is not left behind.
• Use a coolant filter in your truck engine as besides applying a coat of protective layer on the metals; it will also have an anti foaming chemical agent that will reduce the formation of coolant bubbles. This cooling filter needs to be replaced periodically as it depletes over time.
• The truckers need to pay extra attention to the filtration of the engine air. They need to install an indicator on the side of the air filter that will change color as soon as the filter element becomes dirty.
